PERKINS, William. PO Morton, Farmer, Section 20; was born in Delaware, May 20, 1815; son of Joseph and Hannah Grubb Perkins, natives of Delaware settled in this county Oct 8, 1838. Married March 19, 1838 in PA Maria, daughte rof John and Mary Forwood, natives of Delaware; children: Mary A; Ira; George; Wesley (fell in battle is buried in Cleveland, Tenn); Liddie; Hannah; William; Elm; Oran. His son, Ira, enlisted July 18, 1863 in the 18th Indiana Battery; served 3 years was in 12 engagements; honorably discharged in Indianapolis June 29, 1865. Owns 646 acres of fine land; is a public-spirited man; a firm Republican and member of ME Church.
